About the Program

Initiated in 2003, the Jack C. Taylor Founding Values Award honors the regional subsidiaries who truly live the company's founding values, which were set in motion six decades ago by the Award's namesake and our company's founder, Jack Taylor. We all understand the values–but how do we live them? That's what this award is about: How teams across the world are putting the founding values to work every day, in key business areas represented in the Enterprise Holdings Cultural Compass.

RULES

All Groups must submit entries for the Jack C. Taylor Founding Values Award via the website.
Winners are selected based upon individual merit. The number of winners is limited only by each Group's dedication to outstanding results.
General Managers work with their teams to document their success in living the Founding Values in the core focus areas of Operations, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Work Life Quality, Compliance & Ethics, Philanthropy & Community Relations, and Sustainability & Environmental Health/Safety.
Award objectives and detailed instructions are distributed each year.
Senior Vice Presidents and the Enterprise Holdings Founding Values Committee determine the Groups that best demonstrate the company's founding values through their performance in the focus areas.
The award is presented to the winners at the annual Fall Officer Meeting.

PRIZES

Each winner receives a commemorative custom-designed plaque and a grant from the Enterprise Holdings Foundation to be used to advance qualified not-for-profit causes in their local communities. Depending on the number of winners each year, the minimum grant for each Group is $40,000* to put to good use in their local communities. Winners with a perfect score will receive an additional $10,000*.

*Equivalent in local currency.

SCORING

Each Compass Point Committee team scores operationally qualified Operating Groups for their compass point. Note: Some compass points involve more than one discipline. Each rate specific goals that are set on an annual basis.

After the FVC has reviewed all applications, the results will be given to Dave Nestor to share with the SVP teams. The SVP teams can share grades with their region’s GMs as they see fit after the Fall Officer Meeting.

Below is the scoring grid, effective for the FY24 program. This illustrates the change in terminology and points needed to win an award.
